Propaganda March 22nd 2019

Ok… massive changes are afoot, here at Ghost Wave Radio… number one, this site will become a blog… I know that I said my writing days were over, but I’m just a sucker for new music and that’s about it in my way of defence.

The site is pretty empty as of now, bar a few items from last year, but I will build up the content over the next few weeks. At the moment there are just 3 people on the team, so if you’re looking to join us, to cover Metal or EBM, Industrial, Punk… whatever, just get in touch via:

The other big change is that I’m giving up my slot on Sine FM. I’ve loved working for the station, but I only have so many hours in the day and something has to give if I want to make a go of my new station… launching May 1st, if you didn’t know.

So once again I’ll re-jig my work schedule over the next few weeks, so there will be some other slight changes because of this… but I am hoping to allocate 3 to 4 hours a day for everything music related.

More details next week, but for now, it’s onto the music

 Dark News:

Danish duo Crackdown have just released their single, Time and they also have a video for it…

I’m not sure whether to congratulate Missing In STARS on their superb cover of the Thompson Twins song, Hold Me Know, or to have a go at them, because the fucking thing has been stuck in my head all week

Pig – ‘Stripped & Whipped’

It’s the ‘Risen’ remix album that you never knew you wanted, or needed. It’s the original album but fitter, faster and fatter, with remixes from a stellar rogue’s gallery of talent – Evestus, Chris Vrenna (tweaker / NIN), PIG feat. En Esch, Needleye feat. Michael Spreitzer of DevilDriver, Go Fight, Der Prosector, Seething Akira, Randolph & Mortimer, Eden, The Birthday Massacre, Wiccid, Marc Heal (Cubanate / MC Lord of the Flies), Black Asteroid and i!.

All physical copies come signed by Raymond Watt

And I’ve included a track in Mondays show…

Metal News:

Belgium’s Black Metallers, Enthroned have just unveiled the first single from their new album ‘Cold Black Suns’. The new offering is set for worldwide release via Season of Mist on June 7, 2019.

The band comments: “We’re proud to introduce our first single “Silent Redemption” from the upcoming album “Cold Black Suns”. This track unveils one of the many layers of the long awaited 11th opus. With “Silent Redemption” we take you along to Aokigahara, the infamous Suicide Forest in Japan, to walk amongst the Yūrei. While keeping our band’s trademark, this new album offers another pitch in the music, soaking the listener in bleak and fury.”

Machine Man Records have released a couple of singles, both of which have had a lot of attention the past week

Hailing from Brazil, Thrash/Hardcore exponents Anguere have just released Chacina… and I love the intensity these guys create

and on a slightly quitter note, Infinity have just released their single, Set Me Free, which will appeal to those that prefer a thrashier or more traditional style of Metal

Absinthropy and Salix Babylonica team up for split release

A brand new split from two fascinating bands is soon to be released on Clobber Records. It is rare to find such quality and compatibility on one record from two bands who geographically are so far apart.

Hailing from the birthplace of Aleister Crowley, Absinthropy have forged a robust reputation on the UK underground circuit. Their music is deeply absorbing and draws from a wide range of black metal and alternative extreme metal influences.

Salix Babylonica

A duo from Ecuador and incorporate elements of doom and provocative melody into a black metal soundscape.

The split will be released on CD and on all good download/streaming sites on 12th April 2019. It is available to pre-order now:

Absinthropy – Crescent Hooks Above Twilight Gardens
Absinthropy – A.N.T.S.S.A.T.B.F.
Absinthropy – Sylvia MMXVIII
Salix Babylonica – She’s Back
Salix Babylonica – Dead Birds Of The City

And just a quick plug for the two shows I published earlier this week:

I think Ghost Wave Radio Show 89 is one of the best shows I’ve done for a while and it contains the likes of Death In June, Missing in STARS, Crackdown, Dunkelwerk… even a bit of Blancmange

and this weeks Metal Jacket Radio can be found here:

with a stack of new releases from the likes of Possessed, Istapp, Doro, Vltimas and Oceans, as well as a Canadian scene report
